What Is NOBLE?

What is NOBLE?

The North Of Boston Library Exchange (NOBLE) is a cooperative effort of 28 area libraries founded to improve library service through automation. Seventeen public library members, ten academic libraries and one special library are members of NOBLE.

Endicott College Library is a member of this consortium. This allows us to share an online catalog as well as borrow materials from other member libraries.

What is the book catalog?

What is a Book Catalog? How Do I Search It?

A book catalog allows a library user to search for materials (primarily books and media items) at their library and other libraries.
Endicott is linked to the NOBLE system.

Choose FIND MEDIA AND BOOKS and VISIT NOBLE BOOK CATALOG

Your first task is to see whether or not Endicott College has the materials you need.

Viewing the example above, you can see that the person wanted the TITLE Grapes of Wrath and searched only in ENDICOTT COLLEGE.

  • You can change these limiters by using the drop down menus.
  •  You can also search for keywords and/or authors. Most people do not use the subject search as much, as that is a very specific search field.
  • You can also use the library drop down to select the entire NOBLE system or choose a separate library.
